In a strategic step aimed at enhancing students’ skills and linking vocational and technical education with real labor market needs, the signing ceremonies of partnership agreements under the “Work-Based Learning” (WBL) program were launched under the patronage of the Ministry of Education.
This initiative comes in line with the direct guidance of His Excellency Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Hajaj, who signed the agreements as the authorized representative of the Minister of Education, emphasizing the importance of developing vocational education and strengthening its connection with the private sector.
Today in Aqaba, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Directorate of Education and Tala Bay Resort, aiming to train vocational and technical education students within a fully integrated hospitality and tourism work environment. This initiative is designed to enhance students’ practical skills and prepare them for both local and international labor markets.
The signing ceremony was attended by His Excellency Thabet Al-Nabulsi, Commissioner for Tourism and Youth Affairs, who highlighted the importance of such partnerships in providing students with real hands-on training opportunities within leading tourism establishments in Aqaba, thereby supporting youth empowerment and professional development.
The agreement was officially signed by Mr. Rami Odeh, CEO of Tala Bay Resort, who affirmed the resort’s commitment to hosting and training students through structured practical programs within its facilities. This initiative aims to provide real-world experience that contributes to building students’ professional capabilities and improving their employability.
This step is part of the Ministry of Education’s broader strategy to develop vocational and technical education by strengthening partnerships with the private sector and enabling students to apply theoretical knowledge in real working environments.
All parties emphasized that this agreement represents a significant milestone in strengthening Aqaba’s position as a leading hub for tourism and vocational education, while also supporting sustainable development and serving the local community.
