Tala Bay Hosts the 3rd Arab Open Fishing Championship in Aqaba
Tala Bay partnered with the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation to host this prestigious event. From September 5 to 7, Tala Bay hosted the third Arab Open Fishing Championship, supported by the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority.
The championship saw wide participation from Arab and local teams, including teams from Egypt, Yemen, Bahrain, and Kuwait, alongside Jordanian teams. A selection of professional fishermen from several Arab countries participated in the championship. This reflects the advanced status the championship has attained regionally and underscores Jordan's success in organizing and hosting major marine sports events.
The championship activities kicked off following a technical meeting held on September 5 with the participating teams. Competitions began on Saturday, September 6, and continued for two challenging and exciting days.
The championship was attended by His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein, along with a number of prominent figures in Aqaba, including the Governor of Aqaba, the Chief Commissioner of the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority and his Deputy, the Gendarmerie, Civil Defense, Tourism and Environmental Police officers, the President of the Royal Jordanian Marine Sports Federation, the Egyptian Consul, and a number of other officials. They emphasized the importance of supporting marine sports and enhancing the skills of local fishermen.
On the sidelines of the championship, Tala Bay organized events supporting local marine sports, providing Jordanian and amateur fishermen with the opportunity to experience professionalism in a unique atmosphere and boosting tourism and sports activity in Aqaba.
